COP29 - Climate Finance Negotiations

At #COP29 - 29th UN Climate Change Conference focused on Climate Finance, World leaders struggle to progress negotiations of a $1.3 trillion climate finance target, meant to address energy transitions to a fossil phaseout and loss & damage in the Global South countries. However, civil society is calling for at least $5 trillion in annual climate reparations to ensure a just transition.

But why is $2trillion raised to finance wars globally but a challenge to fund climate solutions? It’s time for world leaders to prioritize people and planet over profit!
